Description

Caroline’s interest in translation was piqued when she was first introduced to Latin and Greek at the Institut Saint-Louis Namur, and it has since turned into an all-consuming passion. When she left school, driven by a real hunger for adventure and new experiences, our future student spent a year in Russia learning the language and culture.

As soon as she came back, she threw herself into her degree in multidisciplinary translation at the University of Mons, during which she spent five months in Nijni Novgorod thanks to the Erasmus scheme. After that, she spent three months as an intern at a translation agency in Hamburg, and translated part of a Russian novel for her dissertation.

With her Master’s under her belt (for which she was awarded the highest level of distinction), Caroline got back on the road, this time heading to Stockholm to perfect her Swedish and English while working as an au pair. Now confident in four languages, as well as her mother tongue, our young translator embarked on a career as a freelancer when she came back from Sweden, before joining Right Ink as a translator a year later.

Passion, a thirst for learning and an excellent work ethic have been the principles that have always guided her, in both her professional and her private life. When she isn’t immersed in a translation, Caroline can often be found with her nose in a dusty old tome, or planning her next adventure beyond Belgium’s borders.
